A driveway is usually the largest single piece of concrete on a property and the first thing anyone sees. When it starts to spall, settle or hold water against the garage, patching stops being economical and replacement becomes the cheaper long-term answer.

From worn-out slab to finished drive, usually inside a week

Most residential driveways are a two to three day install, followed by a cure period. Day one is demolition and haul-off, and it is also when we find out what is actually under the slab. Old driveways in this area frequently sit on fill that was never compacted, and pouring new concrete on top of that buys you the same failure a second time.

Day two is base work and forming. We bring the subgrade to the right elevation with compacted crushed stone, set the forms to a grade that drains, and place reinforcement. Day three is the pour and the finish.

After that, the slab needs time more than it needs anything from us. Stay off with vehicles for seven days. Do not use de-icing salt on it for the first full winter, because new concrete is at its most vulnerable to salt scaling in its first year. We leave you a written care sheet with all of it, and we come back to seal decorative work once the slab has cured.
