A slab that has settled but has not broken apart does not need replacing. It needs the void underneath it filled and the slab lifted back to grade, which costs a fraction of a tear-out and repour and is usually finished in a single morning.

Settlement is a symptom. Slabs sink because the soil beneath them washed out, was never compacted, or is consolidating over time. We look for the cause while we are there, because lifting a slab over a downspout that is still eroding the base underneath means doing it again in two years.

Small holes, a controlled lift, and you drive on it the same day

Polyurethane foam injection is what we use for most jobs. We drill penetrations roughly the diameter of a pencil, inject a two-part structural foam that expands beneath the slab, fills every void and then lifts it in a controlled, monitored rise. The foam is inert, will not wash out, weighs a tiny fraction of what slurry weighs, and cures in about fifteen minutes, so vehicles can be back on the slab the same day.

Slurry mudjacking still has its place, particularly on large agricultural or industrial slabs where the sheer volume of void makes the material cost decisive. It uses larger injection holes and needs longer before full loading, but it is very cost effective at scale.

Either way, the lift itself is the careful part. We raise in small increments across multiple ports, watching the slab and checking with a level as it moves, because lifting too fast in one place is how a slab cracks. Holes are patched with a color-matched grout when we finish. Most residential jobs are done in two to four hours.
